Offline Editor

Rob is a freelance video producer and editor under the banner of his company, Optimistic Video Productions as well as being an experienced film and media teacher. Credits include a series of short videos made in collaboration with the award winning charity Beat Bullying, the Gosport based Bond spoof “Casino Rowner”, the cult “Battle of the Lounge” franchise and “48 Hours to Doom”, a short which won 3rd prize in the Portsmouth 48 Hour DV Challenge in 2006. He is currently in pre-production on a short film project with Sholing Technology College in Southampton and working on a promotional film for the children’s hospice Demelza House.

Rob has taught Film and Media Studies for nearly 10 years at colleges in Greater London and Southampton and still finds time to teach part time at St Vincent College in Gosport where he is the only person who knows how to get the best from the Apple Mac suite. As an active member of the Hampshire film community, he works closely with organisations such as City Eye in Southampton and Creative Partnerships delivering community film and video workshops and was also a committee member for the 2007 Portsmouth Screen Festival.

Rob has taught on a range of media and film courses, including units on digital video production, the French New Wave, Film Censorship and music video production. Invalid Debris is Rob’s first feature and he is working on set assembling the rough cut even as the film is being shot. Like all good editors, you can find him in the back room.
